Senior Systems Engineer - RAN (5G NTN)

What you will do

• Lead system requirements analysis, design, development, integration, and deployment of Access Network subsystems for current and future satellite missions.
• Support the design and deployment of LEO Device-to-Device Ground Segment, Moonlight, GX, and other satellite programmes.
• Design, implement, and validate 5G NR NTN Layer 2 and Layer 3 features in line with 3GPP specifications.
• Lead simulation, modelling, test-tool development, test campaigns, and performance evaluation for new systems and candidate solutions.
• Develop feature specifications and radio resource management requirements to improve satellite network performance and space-segment utilisation.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, business units, and external programme teams to support service introduction and handover to commercial operations.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Satellite Communications, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Detailed knowledge of Radio Access Networks, satellite propagation models, modulation and coding, and mobile satellite or VSAT systems.
• Experience with 5G NTN systems engineering and complex technical problem-solving.
• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation and represent hirify.global as a technical expert in cross-functional meetings.
• Ability to complete complex work with minimal supervision and coordinate with internal and external project teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Inmarsat GX, BGAN, hirify.global SurfBeam, ABBP, or Mach3 satellite system design and protocols.
• Knowledge of terrestrial mobile network design and operation.
• Experience with resource management systems, Ka/L/Q/V-band antenna technology, RF systems, and data analysis.
