Senior Electronics Engineer (Quantum Networking)

What you will do

• Architect analogue and mixed-signal electronics designs for quantum networking hardware.
• Define electronics requirements and specifications with physics, product, engineering, and business teams.
• Perform design calculations and simulations, select components, and produce schematics, system designs, and PCB layouts.
• Organise prototype manufacturing and carry out hands-on testing, debugging, and improvement of electronic and optical setups.
• Analyse experimental data and support the use of electronic systems across the company.
• Provide input on project timescales, complexity, costs, and technical planning.

Requirements

• Degree-level qualification in electronics, physics, or a closely related subject.
• Industry experience in analogue electronic design and PCB design, including design for manufacture and reliability.
• Understanding of high-frequency and RF circuit design fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience testing and experimenting with oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, and similar equipment.
• Knowledge of sound engineering design processes and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to meet demanding specifications.

Nice to have

• Line management or team leadership experience.
• Electronic or electromagnetic simulation experience, including Altium Designer, LTSpice, or Keysight ADS.
• Ability to solder and rework high-density PCBs.
• Experience integrating sub-assemblies into complete electronic systems.
• Experience with electronic circuit noise analysis or FPGAs.
