Radar Systems Engineer (SAR)

Location: Portsmouth, United Kingdom; hybrid working. Minimal travel to Airbus and customer sites is required. Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance is required.

What you will do

• Lead microwave instrument technical proposals and studies lasting up to 14 months, with a focus on Synthetic Aperture Radar.
• Analyse, design, and develop microwave instrument systems.
• Monitor study progress, resolve technical issues, and lead change management with internal stakeholders and customers.
• Ensure systems designs meet customer requirements throughout the lifecycle, including schedules, technical trade-offs, and work packages.
• Request and provide peer reviews for studies, projects, and proposals.
• Support technical, industrial, commercial, and contractual negotiations.

Requirements

• Technical expertise and experience in microwave instrument design.
• Detailed knowledge of Synthetic Aperture Radar.
• Experience conducting technical studies, including bid processes, proposal writing, and gathering customer requirements.
• Interest in collaborating with experts and sharing knowledge to create technology for future space missions.
• Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance.
