Applications Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Remote from Taiwan; based in Hsinchu, with a home office available and frequent domestic travel required.

What you will do

• Collaborate directly with customers to understand processes, challenges, and goals, and guide the integration and optimization of hirify.global tools.
• Develop and refine applications through in-house laboratory tests, on-site experiments, workflow optimization, and tailored customer solutions.
• Drive customer projects by aligning customer needs with internal objectives, managing milestones, and delivering agreed outcomes.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, analyze data, and improve tool performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• Document findings, share insights, create training materials and best practices, and present technical concepts to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Travel frequently domestically within Taiwan.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field, with hands-on experience in analytical methods for nanoparticles and surfaces.
• Strong background in semiconductor-grade material testing, contamination control, or application development for R&D or manufacturing environments.
• Experience developing, troubleshooting, or optimizing advanced analytical tools in high-tech settings.
• Proficiency in data analysis.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Fluency in Mandarin is essential.
• Knowledge of local semiconductor manufacturing standards and facilities in Taiwan.
