Field Applications Leader, CM Production Support (Electronic Materials)

Location: Hybrid, Minhang, Shanghai, China. The role includes on-site support at customer and contract-manufacturer facilities in China.

What you will do

• Lead customer and contract-manufacturer application support, including process implementation, manufacturing readiness, audits, qualification builds, pilot runs, and mass production.
• Resolve production challenges and customer technical concerns with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, and other application teams.
• Build and manage the CM field application engineering team, defining goals, performance metrics, technical competency plans, and talent development programs.
• Develop application databases, design guides, training programs, technical marketing tools, and targeted materials for decision-makers.
• Develop technical validation testbeds for rapid prototyping, failure analysis, and product compatibility testing; analyze material characteristics and generate standardized reports.
• Support material formulation, manufacturing automation, test-method and material-parameter definition, TTM setup, benchmarking, and product competitiveness analysis.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of technical experience in electronic materials or components industries, including 5+ years of team management and proven success in manufacturing or technical platform development.
• Knowledge of or experience with thermal interface materials and EMI products.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including dispensing, die-cutting, automated assembly systems, and 8D problem-solving methodology.
• Expertise in at least two of the following areas: thermal materials and EMI shielding.
• Proficiency with material analysis tools and digital laboratory management systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply analytical methods to identify, characterize, and resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Hands-on experience building technical platforms such as TTV test systems and customer experience interfaces.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Python and Power BI, as well as process automation and AI tools.
• Strong commercialization mindset for translating laboratory innovations into product value and customer success; exceptional project management and multitasking skills.
• Fluency in English for global technical standards discussions.
