Semiconductor Software Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and build software tooling, firmware, and infrastructure supporting semiconductor design, verification, manufacturing, and post-silicon validation.
• Partner with hardware engineers and EDA teams to accelerate silicon development cycles and improve yield, performance, and quality.
• Build large-scale compute infrastructure using grid, cloud, or HPC environments.
• Develop data pipelines for design and characterization data, along with scripting and automation solutions.
• Translate ambiguous requirements into production-ready software while collaborating with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Contribute through code and design reviews, documentation, debugging, and mentorship of junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience in semiconductor environments.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Hands-on experience with EDA, verification, or post-silicon validation workflows.
• Understanding of low-level hardware-software interaction, large-scale compute infrastructure, data pipelines, debugging, and automation.
• Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Exposure to SystemVerilog or other HDLs.
• Familiarity with UVM-based verification workflows.
• Experience with cloud-based EDA workflows.
• Hands-on experience applying ML to silicon design.
• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
