Software Engineer (Hybrid) - 26938

Location: Hybrid role requiring customer-site work in Hanover, MD 1–2 days per week and office work in Columbia, MD 1 day per week; U.S. citizenship and a current Secret-level U.S. Government security clearance are required.

Salary: $115,199–$150,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement complex Java-based software capabilities for computer-based systems.
• Build enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, and microservices-based solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver software aligned with client requirements.
• Apply testing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills across multiple deadlines.
• Work with configuration management tools and Linux command-line environments.
• Support an agile software development lifecycle in a fast-paced small-business environment.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience with modern Java frameworks and libraries, plus a related bachelor's degree; alternative education and experience combinations are accepted.
• Experience with Spring or Guava, enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, microservices architecture, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with agile software development, configuration management tools such as Git, Nexus, or Maven, and Linux command-line work.
• Current Secret-level U.S. Government security clearance and U.S. citizenship required; TS clearance may also be considered.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
• Must work on site in Hanover, MD 1–2 days per week and at the Columbia, MD office 1 day per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with NiFi, Kafka, AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes, Azure, or other cloud technologies.
• Experience with SQL, distributed, or NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Scripting experience and familiarity with big data platforms.
• Experience with development tool suites such as JIRA, Confluence, YouTrack, or GitHub.
