Software Engineer III - Cloud Data Platform (Java)

Salary: $132,000–$228,000 base salary annually

What you will do

• Architect, design, and implement cloud-native data platform and analytics SaaS services processing billions of real-time data points.
• Build large-scale distributed systems with Java or Scala and modern big data technologies.
• Design and develop real-time stream processing systems, microservices, and API-driven services.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and data security across platform components.
• Resolve complex defects, promote software and system-design best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Lead hands-on implementation of core platform components and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on data platforms or data engineering.
• Deep expertise in Java and large-scale distributed systems, including consistency, availability, durability, fault tolerance, and consensus algorithms.
• Advanced knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience designing microservices and API-driven systems.
• Strong technical communication, mentoring skills, and ability to apply AI and data-driven insights in the role.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, Flink, and Hive on public cloud.
• Familiarity with ELK, Debezium, and SaaS/PaaS development on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with TeamCity-based CI/CD pipelines.
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience with multiple programming languages and frameworks.
