Senior Software Engineer - CI/CD and Software Development Tools (Automotive)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates living within a specific radius of a GM hub are expected to report onsite three times per week. Listed hubs: Austin, Texas; Milford, Michigan; Mountain View, California; Warren, Michigan.

Salary: $129,400–$260,300 per year, plus potential incentive pay.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for embedded software builds, integration, and testing.
• Architect and operate cloud-based platforms supporting build, test, virtualization, and virtual workspaces.
• Integrate pipelines with physical and virtual test environments, including co-simulation and hardware-in-the-loop workloads.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and performance optimization for cloud and virtualization platforms.
• Collaborate with development, test, platform, IT operations, cybersecurity, and supplier teams to resolve technical issues and enforce standards.
• Provide technical guidance, documentation, training, reviews, demonstrations, and roadmap updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in software tools, platform, infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, or cloud-based application development.
• Strong experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or comparable CI/CD technologies.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and programming or scripting with Python, Bash, and C, C++, or Java.
• Knowledge of embedded software development, build processes, test automation, virtual testing, and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future GM immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with large-scale cloud-native platforms, embedded or automotive test frameworks, and virtual development environments.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and SPI.
• Experience with Vector CANape/CANoe, dSPACE SystemDesk/VEOS, AutoVal, or Intrepid Vehicle Spy.
• Knowledge of corporate cybersecurity standards for cloud and CI/CD platforms.
