Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Hybrid in San Antonio, United States, with an average of 2 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement complex Java software capabilities for computer-based systems.
• Build and maintain enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, and microservices.
• Build and maintain Kubernetes deployments using Helm and Flux.
• Test, troubleshoot, and deliver reliable software while managing multiple deadlines.
• Stay current with emerging software development technologies.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance while remaining hands-on.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required; a Secret-level U.S. Government security clearance will be processed.
• 9 years of software engineering experience with a bachelor's degree, 7 years with a master's degree, or 13 years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong Java development experience with modern frameworks and libraries such as Spring and Guava.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Flux, enterprise APIs, RESTful services, microservices, Linux, and configuration management tools such as Git, Nexus, and Maven.
• Experience with Agile software development and demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, or engineering team management.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and spend an average of 2 days per week at the San Antonio office.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or Azure and custom Kubernetes tooling such as operators and custom CRDs.
• Experience with Go, Python, CI/CD automation, distributed or NoSQL databases, and full-text search engines.
• Familiarity with hirify.global's Big Data Platform and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and GitHub Enterprise.
