Senior Software Engineer, Platform (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates outside the domestic U.S. cannot be hired.

Salary: $160,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop core backend components for an engineering pod using Java and microservices.
• Measure and optimize backend performance, scalability, and uptime.
• Design consistent RESTful APIs and domain-driven services to coordinate service contracts.
• Conduct design and code reviews and promote strong engineering standards.
• Collaborate with product management, customer success, and customer support to improve the user experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building clean, well-architected, distributed, and scalable software.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Strong command of Java and Java-based microservices with Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and supporting customer-facing RESTful APIs.
• Experience designing and implementing relational database schemas with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or equivalent.
• Experience with unit and integration testing concepts and tools such as JUnit and Mockito, plus a BS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, git-flow, SonarQube, and CI/CD.
