Salary: $180,000 – $275,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Architect and build highly scalable, low-latency backend systems and critical APIs.
• Evolve and optimize backend infrastructure to support millions of users.
• Mentor other engineers and drive technical decisions across the organization.
• Collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, and data teams.
• Ensure system reliability and performance in high-traffic production environments.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in New York City for on-site work.
• 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java and experience building scalable microservices.
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design and distributed systems.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and schema design.
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS), CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.

Nice to have

• Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, or other message brokers and caching systems.
• Background in SRE, DevOps, or DevSecOps.
