Principal Design Enablement (Silicon Photonics)

What you will do

• Design and optimize passive and active silicon photonic devices, including balanced and high-speed photodetectors.
• Develop application-oriented photonics process design kits (PDKs) through device design, fabrication, and characterization.
• Independently characterize devices, verify performance, analyze results, and document findings.
• Provide technical support for PDK-related questionnaires.
• File patents covering silicon photonics devices and protect intellectual property.
• Follow Environmental, Health, Safety and Security requirements and programs.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in photonics, electrical engineering, physics, or a related field.
• Practical knowledge and understanding of optical science and/or photonics technology.
• Ability to plan and complete experimental projects independently.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to take ownership, multitask, and prioritize work.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with electrical and optical measurement of optical chip devices and systems.
• Creative approach to research and strong communication skills.
