What you will do

• Simulate and design active and passive photonic integrated components and high-bandwidth systems.
• Translate operational specifications into precise mask layouts.
• Drive tape-out processes, including layout verification, DRC, and documentation.
• Develop and maintain software for simulation and mask layout tools, including PDKs.
• Conduct testing, characterization, and qualification of integrated circuits.
• Perform root cause and failure analysis to optimize device performance.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in a high-tech engineering environment.
• Strong background in silicon photonics, semiconductor physics, and optical component design.
• Expertise in optical communications or high-frequency electro-optical characterization (>40 GHz).
• Proficiency in photonic electromagnetic field simulations (Lumerical) and RF electromagnetic simulation (HFSS).
• Must be eligible to access export-controlled information under U.S. export control laws.

Nice to have

• Experience with advanced packaging or 2.5D/3D integration in optical platforms.
• Design and tape-out experience with multiple foundries.
