Location: Munich, Germany; hybrid with 60% office and 40% home office. An option is available to work up to 20 days abroad in approved countries.

What you will do

• Define and lead the engineering strategy for the Acquisition & Retention area.
• Lead development and delivery of systems supporting customer acquisition, retention, loyalty, pricing, communications, customer data, and growth experiences.
• Improve engineering maturity across planning, architecture, quality, reliability, observability, incident management, and delivery execution.
• Drive adoption of AI-powered SDLC capabilities, including code generation, intelligent reviews, automated documentation, quality gates, and AI-assisted monitoring.
• Own OPEX and CAPEX planning, forecasting, and budget control while maintaining security, privacy, and compliance standards.
• Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and Business teams; lead hiring, talent management, and leadership development across engineering.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience and 7+ years managing large engineering organizations with engineering managers and architects.
• Experience defining and delivering technical strategy across AdTech, MarTech, Loyalty, Pricing, and Customer Data ecosystems.
• Experience improving engineering maturity in growing and complex organizations, including ownership models and engineering operating mechanisms.
• Strong architectural judgment and experience building scalable, reliable, and evolvable systems.
• Experience with AI and automation technologies that improve engineering productivity, such as generative AI tooling, automated QA, and AIOps.
• Strong product and business partnership, communication, judgment, and decision-making skills.
