Director of Engineering, Internal Platforms & Developer Experience (AI)

Location: US Remote - New Jersey - Other. Remote or hybrid candidates may be considered; employees living within a one-hour commute of a hirify.global office are required to work onsite most of the time. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $212,000–$300,000 per year, with potential eligibility for bonuses, commissions, or other compensation.

What you will do

• Define and execute platform engineering strategy across infrastructure, developer experience, and AI enablement.
• Lead multiple engineering teams responsible for cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and internal developer platforms.
• Build documented, self-service tools and platforms that reduce friction and accelerate delivery from code to production.
• Establish AI-assisted development strategies, including tool evaluation, integration, governance, and responsible-use guardrails.
• Drive standards for platform reliability, scalability, security, observability, incident response, infrastructure as code, and capacity planning.
• Partner with product engineering, security, data, architecture, legal, and compliance leaders while using adoption and developer satisfaction metrics to improve platform services.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience, including 5+ years managing engineering teams and 2+ years leading managers or multiple teams.
• Experience building or scaling platform and infrastructure organizations and making architectural and strategic decisions.
• Expertise with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Kubernetes; GitHub Actions or ArgoCD; Terraform or Crossplane; and observability tooling.
• Experience building internal tooling and self-service platforms using a platform-as-a-product approach.
• Knowledge of AI coding assistants, code generation tools, and LLM-based development frameworks, including organizational adoption strategies.
• United States work authorization required; employment-based immigration sponsorship may be available subject to business need, qualifications, and applicable law.
