Principal Product Engineer (Software)

Location: London, United Kingdom; minimum 3 days per week on site at the office near Angel station

Salary: £180,000–£220,000 per year

What you will do

• Own Product Engineering (Software) across the Product, Engineering, Design, Data & AI organization.
• Set technical architecture direction and establish engineering best practices for predictable, high-quality product delivery.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data & AI, Customer Success, and Sales leadership on challenges, initiatives, and roadmap priorities.
• Build, lead, and develop the Product Engineering function, including hiring and mentoring Staff and Senior Staff engineers.
• Architect scalable operating systems that remove bottlenecks, increase velocity, and enable autonomous teams.
• Embed AI-native and automation-first practices while connecting strategy, execution, shipping speed, and product outcomes.

Requirements

• More than 15 years of engineering experience, including more than 10 years building products.
• Demonstrable experience leading and building highly complex products.
• Experience managing multiple Staff and Senior Staff engineers.
• Proven knowledge and practical use of AI and automation as productivity multipliers.
• Experience in fast-paced, high-quality environments such as scale-ups, top-tier technology companies, or product-driven enterprise transformation.
• Based in London and able to work in the office at least 3 days per week.
