Patient Access Specialist (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Location: Onsite at Ardent–Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho, United States

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform admitting, pre-registration, and patient access duties for hospital services.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms; obtain signatures and document distribution.
• Screen Medicare medical necessity using ABN software and distribute required notices.
• Audit accounts, correct documentation issues, operate the telephone switchboard, and provide compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• Must be able to work onsite in Pocatello, Idaho.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Inquisitiveness and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvement.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
