PRN Medical Receptionist

Location: On-site clinic in Glen Allen, Virginia, United States

Pay range: $20.00–$24.00 per hour

What you will do

• Welcome patients and visitors in person and by telephone, answer questions, and direct inquiries.
• Schedule appointments and help maintain patient flow, provider time, and treatment room utilization.
• Notify providers of patient arrivals, monitor appointment schedules, and communicate service delays.
• File, retrieve, and update patient records and account information.
• Complete administrative tasks such as prior authorization paperwork, referral faxes, deliveries, and front-desk stocking.
• Enter and upload patient information in the electronic medical record system while maintaining confidentiality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of related professional experience in a medical office environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency with an electronic medical record system.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patients and their records.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in healthcare or a related field.
• Prior experience with ECW.
