Software Engineer - Mainframe Developer

What you will do

• Develop core versions of software applications for external clients.
• Identify client purchasing requirements and technical specifications with Product Management and client representatives.
• Collaborate with engineering groups on software and equipment design changes.
• Train and communicate with clients on system applications.
• Apply design patterns, sequence diagrams, class models, use cases, and business process models.
• Estimate work for project sub-plans or small projects and support successful completion.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in mainframe development.
• Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, VSAM, Syncsort, and Easytrieve.
• Strong programming, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of financial services, banking practices, regulations, and operations.
• Understanding of end-to-end software development life cycles, design patterns, and solutions design.
• Ability to work as an individual contributor and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAS, TAX, FG, FT, IT, OW, FMS, or GL.
• Knowledge of networking, computing platforms, storage, databases, security, middleware, and systems management infrastructure.
