Senior Network Engineer

Location: London, United Kingdom. This is a site-based role requiring work from a hirify.global office or work location at least 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and support enterprise network solutions across on-premises and cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Deploy and maintain routing, switching, wireless, firewalls, secure remote access, VPN, SD-WAN, ExpressRoute, and Direct Connect solutions.
• Lead architecture decisions focused on scalability, resiliency, high availability, redundancy, segmentation, and security.
• Monitor network performance and reliability, troubleshoot complex network and infrastructure issues, and address capacity problems.
• Maintain network diagrams, IP address management records, standards, and operational runbooks.
• Partner with security teams, vendors, ISPs, and internal stakeholders on remediation, incident response, circuit delivery, deployments, and maintenance windows.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network environments.
• Strong knowledge of network security, including firewalls, encryption, segmentation, secure remote access, and intrusion detection or prevention systems.
• Deep knowledge of routing and switching technologies such as Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, and Meraki.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, and NAT.
• Experience with hybrid cloud networking, VPC/VNet design, security groups, load balancers, and SD-WAN architectures.
• Ability to travel to office or data center locations and participate in after-hours maintenance, cutovers, on-call support, and incident response.

Nice to have

• Experience with zero-trust architectures, ZTNA, SASE, SSE, cloud-native firewalls, WAFs, or edge security platforms.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and network automation using Python, Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell.
• Experience with compliance frameworks such as NIST, CMMC, or SOC 2.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIP, AWS or Azure Networking Specialty, or CWNA.
