Claims Specialist (Fintech)

Location: On-site in Springfield, Illinois, United States

Salary: $50,000–$55,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage and support a caseload of multi-state workers’ compensation, indemnity, employer’s liability, and subrogation claims.
• Conduct initial investigations, gather information, and communicate with injured workers, employers, medical providers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate claim documentation and review medical and expense records for relevance and accuracy.
• Coordinate benefits, notices, return-to-work activities, and follow-up with medical providers and employers.
• Support litigation management, defense counsel coordination, claim reviews, and status updates.
• Collaborate on complex or escalated claims and timely resolution strategies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, critical-thinking, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn claims management systems and other software.
• Interest in learning claims handling and insurance operations.
• Relevant state licensing is beneficial or must be obtainable as required.

Nice to have

• Previous claims, insurance, workers’ compensation, customer service, healthcare, legal support, administrative, banking, hospitality, or other client-facing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or additional education.
• Litigation exposure or claims handling experience.
