GX Satellite Resource Engineer (Satellite Communications)

What you will do

• Configure and operate GX planning software to monitor satellite resource usage, traffic commitments, and network demand.
• Prepare satellite configurations and frequency planning changes to support projected traffic, lease services, and Global Express services.
• Analyze traffic reports and satellite loading, collaborating with other resource engineers and traffic analysts to automate reporting.
• Assess network capacity for future traffic requirements and potential sales with internal business units.
• Coordinate configuration and frequency plan changes with NOC, RAN Operations, Satellite Control Centre, and Lease Operations teams.
• Provide out-of-hours on-call support for the operational network.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent in mobile communications, telematics, or mobile and satellite communications.
• Understanding of VSAT systems, including iDirect and Gilat.
• Strong knowledge of RF, analogue and digital communications, link budget analysis, and transmission plans.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with MS Office, server-client architectures, Windows/Linux operating systems, and database environments.
• Ability to provide out-of-hours on-call support in an operational environment.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in communications engineering, preferably satellite communications.
• Experience in mission-critical, real-time operational engineering or satellite communications.
• Experience with Google Platform technologies, including BigQuery.
• Python and/or Matlab scripting experience.
