Engineering Strategy Program Specialist, Commercial Personal Systems

What you will do

• Lead engineering strategy planning cycles, including problem framing, option analysis, and recommendations for R&D leaders.
• Manage cross-functional programs covering portfolio optimization, cost and efficiency initiatives, and organizational follow-up.
• Translate engineering, market, financial, and business data into insights, dashboards, and executive-ready presentations.
• Partner with engineering, product, finance, operations, and supply chain stakeholders to align priorities and resolve trade-offs.
• Define and track KPIs such as cycle time, cost savings, portfolio mix, and resource allocation.
• Improve strategy-planning methods, tools, and governance while mentoring junior team members.

Requirements

• Four-year or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, business administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in engineering development, strategy, business or portfolio management, implementation, project planning, people management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-structuring, financial modeling, and engineering metrics skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving decisions at director or VP level.
• Fluent English is required; Mandarin Chinese is strongly preferred for cross-site and regional collaboration.
• Experience with statistical analysis, data preparation, data visualization, business intelligence tools, and SQL and/or Python/R.

Nice to have

• Experience in the PC, notebook, hardware, or related technology industry.
• PMI-PMP or PMI-PBA certification.
• Knowledge of PC portfolio management, pricing strategy, BOM cost analysis, competitive analysis, and notebook design and development processes.
