Senior Technical Recruiter - Research Science (AI/ML)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY

Salary: $150,000–$220,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop and execute recruiting strategies for PhD-level Research Scientist and applied research roles in AI/ML.
• Build diverse talent pipelines across academia, research labs, PhD programs, and postdoctoral communities.
• Track recruiting-funnel metrics and use data to improve speed, efficiency, and hiring outcomes.
• Partner with Research leadership and hiring managers on technical hiring strategy, research expectations, and candidate evaluation.
• Represent Snorkel AI at AI/ML conferences and build long-term relationships with researchers and academic talent.
• Coordinate research talks, technical deep dives, panel interviews, feedback, onboarding, and immigration support where applicable.

Requirements

• 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience focused on PhD-level Research Scientist or applied research roles in AI/ML.
• Experience recruiting in high-growth, fast-paced technology startups.
• Strong familiarity with the San Francisco Bay Area academic and research talent landscape.
• Ability to evaluate research talent through publications, conference participation, and academic background.
• Experience sourcing passive candidates and building diverse, high-quality pipelines.
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management, and understanding of the AI/ML research landscape.

Nice to have

• Experience with Greenhouse, ModernLoop, or Gem.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
• Advanced degree or technical background.
• Experience recruiting both research and applied science roles.
• Existing network in the Bay Area AI/ML research community.
