Senior Space Systems Engineer, International Government

What you will do

• Lead and support technical activities across mission concept studies, research, product development, and mission or system development programmes.
• Perform mission analysis, trade studies, system architecture design, and development for space-based PNT and telecommunications systems.
• Capture and verify requirements across user, stakeholder, system, and subsystem domains.
• Conduct functional analyses, manage mass, power, data, and thermal budgets, and develop system performance models.
• Analyse reliability, availability, and maintainability for architecture options and identify programme risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
• Prepare technical reports, bid documents, recommendations, and expert input for government and intergovernmental bodies including the UK Space Agency and ESA.

Requirements

• Degree or comparable expertise in engineering, physics, mathematics, or another numerate subject, combined with several years of industrial experience.
• Strong experience delivering projects or large systems engineering programmes in a Systems Engineer or Systems Architect equivalent role.
• Knowledge of space system operations, spacecraft design and development, AIT methodologies, and orbit determination.
• Excellent mathematical and system modelling skills, with experience using software tools such as STK, MATLAB, and MBSE-based analytical tools.
• Higher degree or systems engineering qualification such as INCOSE membership or an equivalent institutional qualification.
• United Kingdom national eligible to obtain United Kingdom Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of PNT and GNSS standards, satellite-based augmentation systems, and time transfer techniques.
• Experience with Enterprise Architect and other systems engineering or analytical tools.
• Understanding of project management and financial modelling principles.
