What you will do

  • Develop high-fidelity models and control algorithms for propulsion, flight control, and guidance subsystems.
  • Create simulation architectures that support design iteration, verification, validation, and requirements traceability.
  • Perform controllability, sensitivity, parametric, and Monte Carlo studies for dynamic systems and flight vehicle control behavior.
  • Model solid rocket motors, controllable solids, actuation systems, and mechanical, thermal, and aerodynamic subsystems.
  • Support requirements derivation, margin analysis, performance trade studies, mission CONOPS, and technical reviews with DoD customers.
  • Collaborate with GNC, software, systems, and test teams; mentor junior engineers and author technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • 7–10 years of experience in modeling, simulation, control systems, or estimation algorithm development in aerospace or defense.
  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Strong experience with dynamic system modeling, control system design, simulation infrastructure, propulsion modeling, and basic ballistics analysis.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or equivalent modeling and control toolchains.
  • Ability to work with DoD customers, lead engineering tasks across lifecycle phases, and communicate through technical documentation and presentations.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in systems engineering or a related discipline; may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Experience with Department of Defense, Missile Defense Agency, or equivalent government programs.
  • Experience generating SysML diagrams for product structure, behavior, technical logic, engineering processes, and test execution.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work in secure or classified environments on national defense and aerospace programs.
  • Comprehensive health benefits, retirement savings, wellness program, and paid time off.
  • Discretionary annual bonus plan and additional total compensation benefits.
