TL;DR
Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and reviewing lunar lander, rover, surface power system, and spacecraft concepts with an accent on end-to-end mission architecture, power and avionics analysis, and system-level requirements. Focus on performing technical trade studies, translating customer needs into feasible system architectures, and resolving technical risks across engineering disciplines.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA; onsite or remote within the United States

Salary: $145,000–$165,000 annual base salary, excluding benefits and bonus/incentive.

What you will do

  • Develop and review concepts and designs for lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft.
  • Define system-level technical visions and end-to-end mission concepts for NASA, government, and commercial customers.
  • Perform power, avionics, electrical, and system-level design and analysis for mission concepts.
  • Conduct technical, business, and programmatic trade studies to support architecture and implementation decisions.
  • Create technical content for proposals, research and development efforts, customer presentations, and product goals.
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines, partners, customers, and vendors to resolve technical risks and align solutions with mission requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, plus 10 years of relevant engineering experience; an advanced degree may substitute for equivalent experience.
  • Experience in space system development, systems engineering, avionics, power systems, electrical systems, or another relevant engineering area.
  • Experience authoring and decomposing mission and system-level requirements.
  • Experience developing technical proposal content and external customer presentations.
  • Strong understanding of launch, space, and lunar environments.
  • Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR requirements and eligible to obtain required export authorizations; eligibility to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance is desired.

Nice to have

  • Understanding of full end-to-end mission solutions and mission architecture development.
  • Experience writing and reviewing software scripts for automation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of NASA and industry engineering standards.
  • Experience working in an agile environment with Confluence and Jira.
