Sr. Manager, Software Engineering (FinTech)

Location: US - Bellevue, WA; at least 3 days per week in the office. The role requires 5–10% travel.

Salary: $162,500–$260,400 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, and applicable sales incentives.

What you will do

• Lead multiple Agile engineering teams delivering end-to-end payment technology solutions.
• Oversee development of full-stack, real-time transactional services, REST APIs, and container-based services.
• Guide architecture and technology decisions for secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient systems.
• Coordinate requirements, workflow design, delivery planning, resource allocation, and execution across concurrent projects.
• Establish quality standards, oversee testing and code reviews, and lead troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production support.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers while driving continuous improvement and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 11 years of relevant experience without one.
• Experience leading two or more Scrum teams in an Agile environment.
• Experience with Java, C#, web frameworks, JavaScript, and container-based technologies.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, analytics, process modeling, and data modeling.
• Experience with enterprise architecture, consumer-facing applications, CI/CD, code quality, and DevOps practices.
• Experience in financial services, banking, or FinTech is preferred.

• Advanced degree or PhD.
• Experience developing product roadmaps, writing user stories, backlog grooming, and managing cross-team dependencies.
• Experience working with delivery partners, systems integrators, and product vendors.
