Senior Engineering Manager (Application Security)

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid, with four days per week in the office. No required office days during the summer and winter holidays.

Salary: $210,000–$250,000 annual base salary, with possible company incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the Application Security squad and mentor senior security engineers as a hands-on player-coach.
• Develop secure developer tools, libraries, guardrails, and paved roads for committing, testing, building, deploying, and operating code.
• Build and maintain threat modeling, secure design review, code review, and vulnerability management programs.
• Drive Security Champions and distributed threat modeling initiatives across engineering teams.
• Develop the security roadmap, lead large initiatives and concurrent projects, and balance proactive investment with remediation.
• Partner with engineering, product, legal, compliance, and risk stakeholders to reduce security risks across the business.

Requirements

• Expertise in application security, including secure SDLC, threat modeling, secure design review, code review, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with AWS, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and the cloud-native ecosystem.
• Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, and inspiring security engineers, including senior engineers.
• Experience establishing or scaling Security Champions or distributed threat modeling programs.
• Experience leading large team initiatives and smaller concurrent projects with senior engineers.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted security tools and applying AI to security workflows and AI-powered product features.
