Commercial Counsel (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site

Salary: $220,000–$260,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Provide strategic legal support to product, engineering, and model teams working on AI research and development.
• Partner with sales to streamline deal processes while maintaining appropriate legal and business standards.
• Negotiate commercial contracts for delivering AI solutions to healthcare providers.
• Design and implement a privacy program covering HIPAA compliance and Business Associate Agreements.
• Build scalable legal processes, documentation, tools, and legal technology infrastructure.
• Monitor legal and policy developments affecting generative AI, healthcare, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of legal experience, including 2 or more years negotiating commercial contracts and technology transactions.
• Experience in a B2B SaaS, healthcare technology, or artificial intelligence environment.
• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited institution.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Ability to develop legal strategies in ambiguous and rapidly evolving areas.
• Strong cross-functional communication and relationship-building skills.
