Electrical Engineer III – Project Execution (Western Interstates) (Power Systems)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; hybrid work is available for most office roles.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize electrical systems and power distribution networks for pipelines, compressor stations, storage facilities, and related critical infrastructure.
• Integrate automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage technologies to improve performance and reduce operating costs.
• Implement arc flash mitigation and fault detection systems to improve personnel safety and infrastructure reliability.
• Provide technical expertise on power distribution, electrical schematics, and system layouts for new construction and facility upgrades.
• Deliver complex engineering projects from concept through completion while managing scope, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communication.
• Collaborate across disciplines and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• At least four years of engineering experience in natural gas, data centers, or a related industry.
• Knowledge of arc flash studies and electrical design codes including NEC, NEMA, API, and IEEE.
• Knowledge of power system design, analysis, and simulation using ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of high-voltage equipment, transformers, generators, and switchgear, plus understanding of grid integration and renewable energy systems.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, safety, Microsoft Office, and PC skills.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with PLC and HMI instrumentation systems.
• Project management and Pre-FEED, FEED, or EPC experience on small to medium facility projects.
• Experience supporting electrical equipment procurement, commissioning, testing, and startup.
