Product Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States

Salary: $64,500–$101,500 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $79,500–$119,500 annually.

What you will do

• Review company and supplier product-yield and field-reliability data to identify trends.
• Audit sites, assess corrective-action effectiveness, and identify improvement opportunities using the PDCA framework.
• Develop Python scripts to investigate production data, customer returns, and repair trends.
• Provide data-driven analysis and recommendations to business stakeholders.
• Lead root-cause investigations and process-improvement activities using Pareto analysis, histograms, cause-and-effect diagrams, and Cpk.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• US citizenship required.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Quality Engineer in an aerospace or defense environment.
• Experience with quality management systems, manufacturing processes, design, and implementation.
• Strong analytical, Python, written communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience managing contract manufacturers and interpreting contract quality and quality-planning requirements.
• Understanding of box-build, SMT, fabrication commodities, and quality tools including 8D, 5-Why, DFMEA, and PFMEA.

Nice to have

• ASQ CQE certification.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification.
• Understanding of IPC-610 and IPC-620 requirements.
• Experience navigating ambiguity and strong interpersonal skills.
