Location: Hickory, North Carolina, United States; on-site, Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

What you will do
- Inspect, validate, and accept new, repaired, and modified molds, dies, and tooling components.
- Verify dimensions, surface finishes, assembly fit, and functionality against engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Use CMMs, interferometers, height gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and optical comparators for precision inspections.
- Develop and execute inspection plans based on tolerances, GD&T requirements, and critical-to-quality characteristics.
- Document measurement results, visual findings, non-conformances, acceptance status, and tooling traceability records.
- Collaborate with Tooling, Engineering, Quality, and suppliers on corrective actions, root cause investigations, vendor quality, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, Metrology, or a related technical field.
- 2–5 years of experience in tooling inspection, quality inspection, metrology, toolmaking, or manufacturing quality.
- Strong understanding of injection mold construction and tooling components.
- Proficiency with precision measurement and inspection equipment, plus the ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
- Experience developing or executing inspection plans and acceptance criteria, with knowledge of measurement uncertainty and tolerance analysis.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
Nice to have
- Metrology or quality inspection certification.
- Hands-on CMM or First Article Inspection experience.
- Experience with tooling vendor management, supplier quality, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Knowledge of surface finishes, venting design, mold alignment features, tooling validation, quality management systems, or continuous improvement.
