Tooling Engineer I

Location: Santa Ana, California; onsite in the office 5 days per week. Up to 10% occasional travel to domestic and international vendors and hirify.global locations.

Salary: $72,000–$87,000 per year.

What you will do

• Oversee the sustainment and optimization of a high-volume, global fleet of injection molding tool sets.
• Provide technical support for the design, fabrication, and qualification of replacement tooling.
• Investigate internal production bottlenecks and supplier quality deviations through root cause analysis.
• Author and maintain SOPs and design workflows for physical asset sustainment.
• Identify data-driven opportunities to improve products, equipment, and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate technical solutions across Quality, Purchasing, Continuous Improvement, and Manufacturing.

Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience in a Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering role.
• Direct experience with the design, maintenance, and material selection of injection molded components and tooling.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD platform.
• Strong analytical, communication, technical writing, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; hirify.global uses E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with ultrasonic welding processes.
• Experience with plastic injection mold tool design.
