Patient Access Specialist - FT OVERNIGHT 12 Hour Shift

Location: Onsite at Valley Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia, United States. Overnight 12-hour shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform admitting, registration, pre-registration, and patient access activities for hospital services.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute and document required Medicare, Tricare, observation, consent, and patient education forms.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service to patients, guarantors, guardians, and internal contacts.
• Audit accounts, correct documentation issues, maintain reporting data, and support compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Inquisitive approach and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvements.
• Ability to work onsite at Valley Winchester Medical Center on the assigned overnight schedule.
• CRCR certification required within 6 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
