Software Engineer (Hybrid) - 29368

Location: Hybrid in San Antonio, Texas, United States, with an average of 2 days per week in the office. U.S. citizenship is required, and the role requires obtaining and maintaining a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Salary: $100,173–$140,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems.
• Build Java-based software using modern frameworks and libraries.
• Design enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, and microservices.
• Integrate AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Gemini into daily engineering workflows.
• Use autonomous agents for multi-file feature implementation, codebase refactoring, and automated unit and integration test generation.
• Guide agents through multi-repository architectures and audit generated code for security, performance, and architectural alignment.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience with modern Java frameworks and libraries, or an equivalent education and experience combination.
• Experience with enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, microservices architecture, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with the agile software lifecycle, Linux, and configuration management tools such as Git, Nexus, and Maven.
• Strong testing, troubleshooting, analytical, and deadline-management skills.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in San Antonio, attending the office an average of 2 days per week.

Nice to have

• Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with distributed or NoSQL databases and full-text search engines such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or Solr.
• Scripting experience and familiarity with data lakes or data warehouses.
• Experience with AI tools such as Claude Code or Gemini in engineering workflows.
