AI/ML Engineer, Global Banking & Markets, RIA Engineering

Location: New York, NY, United States; onsite role.

Salary: $150,000–$300,000 base salary annually. A discretionary bonus may also be available.

What you will do

• Architect and implement production-grade AI pipelines, Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems, and agentic workflows integrated with enterprise APIs, legacy databases, and Java microservices.
• Build Java-based ETL pipelines to ingest and index unstructured custodial data, including legal agreements and market news, into enterprise vector databases.
• Optimize inference latency and token costs for large-scale deployments serving thousands of internal and external users.
• Establish model evaluation frameworks, mitigate hallucinations, and implement monitoring for latency, token usage, model drift, security, and privacy.
• Implement human-in-the-loop patterns, structured logging, and audit-by-design controls for explainable and compliant AI-driven lending decisions.
• Lead the modernization of batch-oriented Java processes into real-time, event-driven AI architectures using AWS MSK and similar tools while collaborating with technology, security, and software leads.

Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in Java 21 or later, including Virtual Threads and Project Loom for high-concurrency AI inference.
• Hands-on experience with leading AI frameworks and tools.
• Deep experience with Spring Boot 3.x, JPA, Sybase, and Maven or Gradle.
• Proficiency in SQL and integration with enterprise vector stores such as Milvus, Weaviate, or Pinecone through Java clients.
• Experience with Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ for orchestrating asynchronous AI agent tasks.
• Deployment experience on AWS using AWS SDKs.
• At least 6 years of Java software engineering experience, including at least 3 years focused on production AI/ML integration.
• Understanding of RIA workflows, collateral eligibility, and the regulatory landscape of asset-based lending.
• A degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or a related field.
