Electroplating Scientist (Advanced Electronics)

What you will do

• Develop next-generation electrolytic products, processes, and related technologies for PCBs, IC substrates, and advanced packaging.
• Explore new chemical ingredients through patent landscape analysis, fundamental research, experiment design, data analysis, and result interpretation.
• Establish methodologies to address critical customer issues and support new product introduction under high-volume manufacturing conditions.
• Lead process optimization, engineering activities, process control, quality control, analytical fingerprinting, and stable process setup.
• Collaborate with customers, manufacturing teams, external partners, and global R&D teams to accelerate product commercialization.
• Develop SOPs, engineering protocols, and process documentation, and train research assistants and sales representatives.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or master’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related field with relevant research experience.
• At least 3 years of research and development experience covering the product development cycle from idea generation through launch and continuous improvement.
• Experience with electrolytic plating and high-volume manufacturing operations, including bath-life extension, CVS methodology development, SPC protocols, and plating tool operation.
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated use of statistics and design of experiments principles.
• Ability to communicate project updates, plans, activities, and results to domestic and international colleagues and management.
• Position may require domestic and international travel to support products, customers, and partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with electrochemistry or chemical and polymer analytical methods.
