Scientist II, Analytical Chemistry (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Kaohsiung City, Taiwan; onsite laboratory role

What you will do

• Set up and qualify analytical instrumentation for a new laboratory according to hirify.global validation and qualification procedures.
• Assist with implementing the LIMS system and coordinate analytical testing based on production requirements.
• Analyze raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and R&D samples using established work instructions.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
• Improve laboratory processes, analytical methods, documentation, and training materials.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, process engineering, development, and laboratory teams as an analytical subject matter expert.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, or engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of related technical experience or training preferred.
• Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical instruments such as HPLC, IC, GC, GC-MS, FTIR, Raman, ICP-MS, and ICP-OES.
• Experience with laboratories operating under ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards, analytical method validation, and qualification of new laboratory equipment.
• Knowledge of chemical safety, laboratory regulations, quality tools, and safe handling of air- and moisture-sensitive chemicals.
• Proficient written and spoken English required; ability to work in a cross-cultural and cross-language team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with cleanrooms, gloveboxes, gases including H2, Ar, He, NH3, and O2, and semiconductor device materials.
• Familiarity with Mass Hunter, OPUS, OpenLab, JMP, Minitab, and LIMS.
• Experience applying Pareto analysis, FMEA, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, process mapping, design of experiments, cause-and-effect diagrams, and 8D problem solving.
