Jr. Strategic Planner

Location: On-site in Arlington, VA, USA

Salary: $100,000–$110,000 per year

What you will do

• Review strategic documents, including the National Defense Strategy, National Military Strategy, and The Army Plan.
• Assess updates to Army publications and their impact on Army National Guard roles, responsibilities, programs, and policies.
• Review OPLANs, CONPLANs, manpower concept plans, and related documents for alignment with ARNG strategic objectives.
• Track think tank, academic, and policy events relevant to the Army National Guard’s strategic posture.
• Draft information papers, executive summaries, and briefing materials for DARNG and senior leadership.
• Participate in working groups and strategic planning events, providing analytical input.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• 5+ years of experience analyzing the National Defense Authorization Act, National Military Strategy, and other strategic documents.
• Strong written communication skills, including experience producing information papers and briefings.
• Experience with SIPR and NIPR research tools and maintaining classification control.
• Strong understanding of the Army National Guard mission, structure, and integration with federal defense planning.
