Plant Manager (Automotive Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Take overall operational responsibility for the plant, including HSE, footprint and capital optimization, quality, staffing, retention, and performance improvement.
• Own plant P&L and operational targets while supporting strategic long-range planning and short-term objectives.
• Develop roadmaps for operations, operational excellence, and logistics to improve productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Lead KPIs, escalated manufacturing and logistics issues, strategic process-improvement projects, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma methods, including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, 8-D, problem solving, and value analysis.
• Build high-performing teams and lead cultural transformation, innovation, and disciplined data-driven process management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in production operations management, engineering, business, or a related discipline; MBA preferred.
• At least 20 years of progressive experience in Tier 1 automotive manufacturing, including plant experience.
• Demonstrated success turning around a previously challenged manufacturing plant.
• Strong P&L knowledge, executive presence, leadership, project management, planning, and cross-functional facilitation capabilities.
• Proven application of continuous-improvement methodologies, including Lean and Six Sigma, with experience managing complex projects and multiple workstreams.
• Domestic and international travel, including travel with or without overnight stays, is required.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
