Robotics Engineer II (Autonomous Vehicles)

What you will do

• Train, integrate, and test machine learning models for on-vehicle autonomy software.
• Optimize and monitor vehicle software for reliability and low latency.
• Coordinate and execute real-world vehicle tests to validate autonomous driving performance.
• Diagnose and root-cause issues reported through commercial operations and field response processes.
• Design data collection strategies to address machine learning model deficiencies.
• Build tools and visualizations for analyzing behavior and control subsystems using field data.

Requirements

• 2+ years of commercial robotics software experience for physical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in robotics, computer science, computer engineering, physics, aerospace engineering, or a related mathematically or technically rigorous field.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts, including training, architectures, and data selection.
• Functional understanding of lidar, camera, and/or radar perception systems and hardware interfaces.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python in a Linux environment.
• Understanding of memory management, threading, databases, networking, Git, Valgrind, and GDB.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with perception, planning, and foundation model concepts in autonomous driving.
• Experience deploying machine learning models to resource-constrained hardware, including CUDA and GPU processing.
• Experience with hard example mining, active learning, dataset composition, and autonomous vehicle model evaluation.
• Experience building training and evaluation pipelines for datasets larger than 100 TB or models larger than 100 GB.
