Application Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: San Jose, CA; on-site

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 per year, plus annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Deploy and integrate autonomous driving software on vehicle platforms and embedded computing systems.
• Validate system functionality after fleet deployment and vehicle delivery using Linux and Bash-based debugging.
• Perform incident triage, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution across C++, Linux, hardware, and robotics data flows.
• Integrate and validate the full autonomy stack, including Perception, Planning & Control, and vehicle hardware.
• Calibrate and validate cameras, LiDAR, IMU, GNSS, odometry, and related vehicle coordinate systems.
• Support technical demonstrations and pilot deployments while communicating findings and deployment status across AI, Robotics, and Operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working with sensors such as IMU, LiDAR, cameras, odometry, and radar.
• Experience with ROS-based software development for robotic systems.
• Hands-on experience with robot simulators or other robotics frameworks.
• Ability and enthusiasm to understand complex autonomous driving systems and their components.
