Robotics Software Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Milpitas, California, United States; 5 days/week in-office collaboration required

Salary: $120,000–$195,000 USD annually, plus bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain production robotics software in C++ and Python.
• Integrate perception, motion planning, controls, teleoperation, and platform capabilities on physical robots.
• Improve reliability through testing, validation, fault handling, performance tuning, and edge-case analysis.
• Debug complex failures involving software, sensors, networking, timing, and hardware interfaces.
• Build developer tools, scripts, workflows, observability features, and release infrastructure.
• Validate new features directly on hardware and iterate through real-world testing.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, drones, or complex embedded systems, including deployment of physical hardware products.
• Strong command of C++ and Python, including production-level C++ development and Python tooling.
• Experience with robotics domains such as perception, motion planning, controls, localization, state estimation, system integration, or robot behavior.
• Strong Linux development and system-level troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate in the office 5 days per week in Milpitas, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with outdoor robotics, autonomous driving, drones, or mobile robotics.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, or robotics release workflows.
• Experience building testing, simulation, telemetry, debugging, or log-analysis tools.
• Experience with Foxglove, Grafana, RViz, or custom robotics diagnostics interfaces.
• Experience taking robotics software from prototype to production and supporting fleet-scale reliability.
