Maintenance Mechanic (Electrician)

Location: Avon Lake, Ohio, USA; onsite plant-based work

Salary: USD 20.72–27.60 per hour

What you will do

• Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and install process plant equipment, including pumps, motors, gear drives, centrifuges, compressors, boilers, valves, and piping systems.
• Install and maintain industrial electrical systems, motors, controls, starters, variable frequency drives, transformers, power distribution equipment, and lighting.
• Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, megohmmeters, and other testing equipment.
• Perform electrical wiring, conduit installation, cable pulling, terminations, and panel modifications in accordance with electrical codes and company standards.
• Troubleshoot control circuits, instrumentation, sensors, relays, and PLC-controlled equipment while supporting upgrades and preventive maintenance programs.
• Perform lockout/tagout procedures, metal fabrication, process piping fabrication, building and grounds maintenance, and related plant duties.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a chemical or industrial manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, work in adverse weather conditions, and provide reliable transportation and personal tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to make sound repair decisions.
• Ability to read tape measures and use precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, one-line diagrams, loop drawings, and P&ID drawings.

Nice to have

• Journeyman Electrician license, electrical certification, or equivalent industrial electrical experience.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, instrumentation, and automation systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and industrial electrical safety practices.
• Experience in hazardous or classified industrial environments.
