Production Support Associate (Fiber Optics)

Location: Hickory, North Carolina, United States. On-site weekend shift: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

What you will do

• Prepare fiber optic connectors, ferrules, and assemblies for inspection and testing.
• Measure ferrule length and end-face geometry using micrometers, interferometers, and inspection scopes.
• Conduct initial optical performance tests, identify defects, and communicate findings to the Production Support Technician.
• Record and document test results accurately in Microsoft Excel.
• Operate cable-cutting machines to prepare fiber optic ribbons and cables to specified lengths.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean, safe, and organized condition while following technical drawings, company policies, and safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in a technical field is preferred.
• Experience in measurement, quality control, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong verbal communication, mathematics, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook, plus the ability to read technical drawings, layouts, and manuals.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided. Temporary visa holders who require current or future sponsorship are not eligible.

Nice to have

• Background in fiber optics or electronics manufacturing.
• Associate degree in a technical field.
