TL;DR
CMM Programmer (PC-DMIS) (Precision Metrology): Developing and validating coordinate measuring machine programs for precision plastic manufacturing with an accent on dimensional inspection, GD&T, and product conformance. Focus on analyzing measurement data, investigating dimensional nonconformances, and improving inspection methods across Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production.

Location: Hickory, North Carolina, United States. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not provided.

What you will do

  • Develop, modify, validate, and troubleshoot CMM programs using PC-DMIS, Calypso, PCMIS, or similar metrology software.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, blueprints, and GD&T requirements to create inspection strategies and measurement plans.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, final, and First Article Inspections to verify product conformance.
  • Analyze dimensional inspection data, identify process variation and nonconformances, and support root cause and corrective action activities.
  • Operate, maintain, and verify CMMs, FARO Arms, Romer Arms, and portable measurement systems.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production teams to improve inspection efficiency and product quality.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of CMM programming and dimensional inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with PC-DMIS, Calypso, PCMIS, or equivalent CMM programming software.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and dimensional inspection equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree in engineering technology, manufacturing, quality, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with FARO Arms, Romer Arms, portable metrology systems, CMM maintenance, and calibration.
  • Experience with First Article Inspection documentation and requirements.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process improvement, quality system methodologies, advanced metrology, or measurement automation.
