Platform Engineering Technical Manager (Financial Services Platform): Building the workflow orchestration engine, data processing layer, APIs, connector framework, and infrastructure for reliable enterprise data integrations and transformations with an accent on auditability, data lineage, fault tolerance, and governance. Focus on designing Temporal-based workflows, scalable distributed services, immutable logging, and secure cloud infrastructure while leading a hands-on platform engineering team.
Location: Kraków, Poland; hybrid model with 3 days per week in the office, or 2 days for a parent of a child up to 4 years old

What you will do
- Lead and mentor the platform engineering team, establish coding standards, architectural patterns, and scalable engineering practices.
- Own the technical roadmap and align platform architecture with product goals, customer requirements, and AI Engineering needs.
- Design and develop the Temporal-based workflow orchestration layer and fault-tolerant, observable data processing pipelines.
- Build core platform services, including REST and GraphQL APIs, integration and connector frameworks, and PostgreSQL data models.
- Implement audit trails, immutable logging, access controls, data masking, encryption, monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices.
- Ensure high availability, performance, cost efficiency, deployment readiness, and security in collaboration with Cloud Engineering.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software or platform engineering experience and 3+ years in technical leadership roles.
- Hands-on player-coach experience leading engineering teams.
- Strong Python or Java proficiency and production experience with Temporal or Cadence.
- Experience with distributed systems, microservices, cloud/SaaS production systems, Azure or AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
- Experience with PostgreSQL data modeling, schema design, query optimization, and REST and GraphQL API design.
- Knowledge of financial data processing, data lineage, audit trails, immutable logging, event sourcing, CQRS, encryption, tokenization, data masking, strict SLAs, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
Nice to have
- Kafka or event streaming experience with Azure Service Bus or Kinesis.
- Multi-tenant SaaS architecture, data reconciliation, or financial transaction processing experience.
- Familiarity with LLM integration patterns or agentic frameworks such as Agno and LangChain.
- Real-time data streaming experience in financial services.
