Sr. Corporate Maintenance Technician

Location: On-site at the St. Paul Corporate Headquarters in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, USA

Salary: $43.00 per hour and up, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform advanced preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades for HVAC, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, generators, electrical systems, plumbing, piping, laboratory equipment, and process controls.
• Maintain campus HVAC and security systems and serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex failures.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to maintenance personnel while coordinating daily maintenance activities without formal supervisory authority.
• Identify reliability, energy-efficiency, safety, and continuous-improvement opportunities.
• Support facility projects by evaluating vendors, coordinating contractors, and providing technical expertise during planning, commissioning, and startup.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure work complies with company policies, regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least 8 years of hands-on industrial, commercial, or facility maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting pumps, motors, HVAC systems, laboratory equipment, VFDs, MCCs, pneumatic controls, chemical piping, and process flow systems.
• Experience with welding, brazing, soldering, pipefitting, water treatment systems, and high-voltage three-phase electrical systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of LOTO, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, PPE, and hazardous chemical safety requirements.
• Minnesota State Chief Class C Boiler License or ability to obtain it within six months of hire; ability to work at heights, lift up to 75 pounds, and work around chemicals and industrial materials.

Nice to have

• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent trade training.
• 10+ years of experience with building automation, process control, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and laboratory systems.
• Experience with JCI Metasys Energy Management Systems or TSI laboratory hood management systems.
• OSHA Construction Safety and Health Certification.
• Bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering technology, building maintenance, or a related field.
